Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP)

(ERCP) Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography is a procedure that allows your doctor to pass a wire or camera in a small tube joining the intestine from the pancreas or liver (bile duct). This is done through special scope called side-view scope.

The most common reasons for ERCP include diagnosis and treatment of :

  • Yellow skin and or eye, light stool and dark urine due to obstructive jaundice
  • Stones in the bile or pancreas duct
  • Suspected strictures of bile duct/ pancreas duct
  • Cancer involving bile duct / Pancreatic duct
