The site is located usually on the right chest or abdomen and a local anesthesia is given before the procedure. It takes a few minutes. After the procedure the patient needs absolute rest for a few hours or is advised to rest for 24 hours. It can be done as a daycare or indoor procedure. Liver biopsy can be done during surgery also.
